Tamiya Rough Rider / Buggy Champ front skid plate.

A CNC machined skid plate designed and made individually by us. Machined in 1.5mm 6082T6 alloy and including a 3D printed back-frame and spacer for the skid plate.
This 3D printed part adds the critical spacing for the alloy to pass under the bottom front tubes on the SRB chassis. It also adds a shadow feature to mimic a frame behind the plate.
A classic design of a simple skid plate as seen on desert racers of the period.

Why 1.5mm and not 3mm like so many others?

1: Scale: 3mm is 30mm in 1:1 scale and looks too thick on the front of a 1/10 scale car.
2: Having a thinner plate will reduce the risk of breaking the chassis in a hard impact. It will give and absorb impact. 3mm will just move the damage backwards and likely shatter the chassis.

The backing 3D print is supplied in black but can be painted to suit your car (Painted blue in the example images)

No new screws required, original bumper screws are used.

Included in set:
1 x 1.5mm CNC machined alloy plate
2 x 3D printed spacer/detail

The alloy surface is unfinished. Allowing that personal touch of brushing or polishing.

This skid plate will also fit the Sand Scorcher and Super Champ / Fighting Buggy.

(Car not included. Images of completed car for reference only)
